Software developer in Rotenburg (Wümme) – software and AI for mid-sized companies

Digitalisation doesn't require a big-city agency. I'm Kjell Otto, a freelance software developer and architect, and I support companies in Rotenburg (Wümme), the surrounding district and the Elbe-Weser region – in person, without fuss, and with experience from many industries.

on-site

On-site in Rotenburg (Wümme) – then remote

Within the Rotenburg (Wümme) district I can be with you quickly. We start with a personal meeting and an on-site onboarding in which I get to know your processes, your systems and the people behind them. After that I work mostly remotely and am happy to come back for alignment, training or workshops – as much presence as needed, as efficient as possible.

Digitalisation in the Elbe-Weser region

The companies between the Elbe and the Weser are diverse: manufacturers and suppliers, food producers, agriculture and agricultural trade, care and healthcare providers, trades and retail. Many share one thing: they know exactly where time is lost in daily work – but there’s often nobody to turn that into a fitting, reliable software solution.

That’s where I come in. I bring experience from projects for large companies but work pragmatically and as an equal partner. No oversized solutions, but software that fits your size, your budget and your processes.

What I do for companies in the region

Custom software and web applications: customer portals, internal tools, order processing – tailored to your processes rather than the other way round.

Integrations and automation: syncing data automatically between ERP, accounting, online shop and specialist applications instead of typing it in several times.

AI for mid-sized companies: automatically evaluating documents and emails, making knowledge from manuals and guidelines accessible through an assistant, or preparing quotes faster. I’ll assess honestly with you where AI really helps – and where it doesn’t.

Modernising existing systems: stabilising grown software, moving it to the cloud and renewing it step by step.

Personal and long-term

I like to work long-term with companies from the region – as an external developer, a sparring partner for technical decisions or support for your internal IT team. A first conversation is free and non-binding; on-site at your place if you like.

How we get started

It starts with a conversation, ideally at your premises: where are things stuck today, which processes cost the most time, which systems are in use? From that I derive two or three concrete starting points and give you an honest assessment of which one delivers the most value for a manageable effort. If useful, we begin with a small, clearly scoped fixed-price package – so you know up front what you’ll get and can decide calmly whether and how to continue.

Being close to Hamburg and Bremen helps: I know what larger companies need and bring over what makes sense for mid-sized businesses in the region – without the corporate overhead.

faq

Frequently asked questions

Is a software developer worthwhile for smaller companies too?

Yes. Small and mid-sized companies in particular benefit when recurring tasks are automated or scattered data is brought together. We deliberately start small, with a clear benefit, and build from there.

Can you also extend existing software?

Yes. Many companies work with grown custom software. I analyse what's there, stabilise what matters and modernise step by step – without putting ongoing operations at risk.

Do you come to meetings in Zeven, Scheeßel or Bremervörde?

Yes, I'm available for on-site meetings throughout the Rotenburg (Wümme) district and the Elbe-Weser region.
